A lifetime of basketball at all levels
I am a physical education teacher and a basketball coach from Reggio Emilia in Italy. At 19, I movedtoPerugia where I attended high schooland started coaching basketball and I was lucky enough to find a very motivated and talented group even if some didn’t fit for this sport.
Thanks to the strong commitment of these boysand theirfaithful attention in following my advice, we won the regional championshipagainst the league favorite team Rieti after a hard-fought match to qualify and to winthe under 14national champioship.
Winning this first championship resulted to earn the attention of the successful Head Coach Valerio Bianchiniat Stella Azzurra Roma.
Shortly after assisting Coach Bianchini, I was appointed in Sansevero where we won the Serie A Italian championship. Which lead me to come back to assist coach Bianchinithis time in Banco Roma where we won the European Champions Cup (C1) – former Euroleague in 1984 and FC Barcelona.
When winning at the National and European highest level, I also really enjoyeddeveloping young people to see themimproving day by day in their journey and helping them reaching their highest potential.
As I developed players, I take great pleasure teaching coaches in their first level courses as an instructer at the Italian Baskteball Federation. And, in 2018 I have been awared as “EmeritusCoach”by the Italian Basketball Federation – FIP.
Since 2013, I have been workingwith the Rintch Basketball Academy in Norway. I profondly respect coach Rintchas a manager and as a person as he is very prepared technicallyand attentive to the needs of the playerson the court and in life. He also offers the possibilityto those who live in areas where basketball is not very developed by dealing with important realities and improve their fundamentalsand their approach of basketball and life.
